Amy Gurowitz is widely regarded in the MS community as both an advocate for and the voice of the disease. She is known for her candid and lighthearted writing style that not only educates, but also leaves readers soothed and sometimes amused to the point of laughing out loud. In addition to the writings on her blog, (MSLOL: Multiple Sclerosis- A Life of Learning) and regular contributions to Health Central’s MS site and she hosts a monthly blog radio show on MSStation.com called MSLOL Radio. The show highlights people who are making a difference in the MS community with informative and inspiring stories– all of which have generated a devout following.
Using her 23 years of experience with MS and her expertise in educational technology, she designed a web concept that will provide individualized learning for people who need to understand their illness as it grows and changes. MS SoftServe will give users control over what and how they learn about their unique version of MS, without exposing them to unwanted information that contribute to their anxiety while living with it. This platform will ultimately empower PWMS for a life of learning about their unique disease.
After receiving her Master’s in Educational Technology from New York University she founded the non-profit SoftServe Matters to make this and other sites like it, a reality for those who need it most.
Amy lives with her husband and daughter in Montclair, NJ.
